Pharmacy

Order a Pharmacy Refill

Our pharmacy was founded in 1965. For more than 40 years we have safely delivered prescription medicines to the community. Our pharmacy even delivers locally for convenience. Our pharmacist have a distinct advantage over other locations because they have significant knowledge of nutrition and alternative medicine. Our pharmacists are able to counsel patients on nutrient depletions, drug-nutrient interactions, and drug-herb interactions, which most pharmacists cannot.

There is an additional convenience factor, as most patients taking prescription drugs are also taking vitamins to support their health. There are many prescription drugs whose side-effects can be mitigated by replacing key nutrients in the body that the drug depletes. Here is a handy chart you may use as a reference. We also have access to more than 4,000 homeopathic remedies available over-the-counter or by prescription.

Our senior pharmacist has been serving Village Green Apothecary customers for over 27 years. Our newest pharmacist is working on ways to refine pharmacy operations to ensure accurate, faster, and easier service to patients. Our pharmacists are there as licensed professionals to help you understand anything about your medications that your doctor may not have taken the time to explain.

Compounding

Order a Compounding Refill

Village Green Apothecary specializes in the custom compounding of:
  • vitamins
  • minerals
  • prescription drugs

Most compounds are covered by insurance plans. These formulas are made for customers because they are not readily available from a mass-produced bottle. They are superior quality and easy to order.

These compounds are prepared on a nutritionist's or physician's orders just like a regular prescription and, offer several distinct advantages over mass produced bottled products, such as:
  • simplifying a nutritional program
  • accurate dosages tailor-made to needs
  • reducing the number of capsules needed on a daily basis
  • typically less costly than buying multiple individual capsules
  • elimination of non-natural fillers, binders, and other possible allergens

Compounded prescriptions are filled without dyes or other allergens and provide non-commercially available dosage levels, pill sizes, and sometimes combine multiple drugs instead of taking separate pills. Some of the physicians that regularly prescribe individualized compounds include OB/GYNs, family care physicians, allergists, pediatricians, veterinarians, and dermatologists. The time required to prepare a custom compound is 2-4 days, but patients are receiving a product made for them as an individual, not as a mass market consumer. Prior to mass production of drugs in the 1960s, most prescriptions required compounding by a druggist or apothecary.
