It may sound like a basic question, but the more you understand your motivation, the more likely you are to stay committed to exercise. Over the years, I found that the people most committed to exercise have a similar mindset:
• They exercise for themselves (not for their partner, friends or an ex they may bump into at a reunion).
• Through trial and error, they’ve found a way to fit exercise into their busy day (keeping the gym bag packed and waiting by the door, exercising first thing in the morning, etc.).

1) Eat a Varied Diet
Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, high-quality protein sources, and healthy fats are all rich sources of beneficial nutrients that can nourish and protect your body. Incorporating a wide variety of healthy foods into your diet helps to ensure that you are getting a good range of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and fiber. Rotating foods, so that you are not eating the same things every day can also help to reduce the likelihood of developing food sensitivities. This is an important component of supporting immune and digestive wellness.
2) Supplement With Key Nutrients

Do your kids constantly ask for treats? Does it seem like cookies and candy, juice boxes and fast food meals are all they’re willing to eat? You’re not alone-many kids are attracted to things that aren’t the best nutritional choices. Maybe you are thinking, “They’re kids, it can’t be THAT bad for them.”
Let me share some frightening statistics from the International Journal of Pediatric Obesity (a problem so large that it has its own Journal!)
We’re spending billions of dollars on healthcare and our kids are unhealthier than ever. What’s going on here? (more…)
