Food Allergy Testing

by Paula Gallagher | December 15, 2009

Food allergies are no fun.  They can result in an immediate reaction such as anaphylaxis, wheezing and or hives.  There can also be delayed reactions that the body has in response to certain foods.  Many people have food sensitivities but are unaware of them. Fatigue, mood swings, runny nose, forgetfulness and digestive symptoms, like gas and bloating may all be symptoms of food sensitivity.  Common culprits are dairy, wheat, eggs and soy.

The problem with continuing to eat foods that cause allergic reactions is that it can, over time,  lead to chronic health conditions like leaky gut syndrome (more on that lovely topic in a future blog).

ALCAT is a food sensitivity test that can test for 200 foods, additives and colorings, environmental chemicals, molds and more.  If you think you may have a food allergy, consult with your health care practitioner about what you can do.  If you do have a food allergy, Village Green nutritional consultants can help you with supplement  and dietary questions.  We offer a large selection of supplements that omit common allergens.  Drop in today.
